24-hour Velothon In Aid Of Kemp Hospice Previous item WFCRC Launches New Group Ride Next item Open 10 Mile Time Trial...

UPDATED – August 28th

You can find Kemp Hospice’s report on the event HERE.

Over the weekend of August 24th-25th, WFCRC ran a charity event to raise funds for Kemp Hospice. Our own Tim Tranter reports:

Total raised to date on the online fundraising page: £2285 (+ £525.50 Gift Aid)
Total raised by Jack Coombe (solo rider) on his fundraising page: £350 (+ £87.50 Gift Aid)

Cash donations have yet to be counted up, but as it stands the above totals = £3248 inc gift aid
That is absolutely amazing!
(If you want to share your fundraising efforts with us please let us know below, so we can add it to the total)

Now on to the results which can be found on

https://docs.google.com/…/1aYsH0anufAz8LwTV7ukb…/pubhtml

Collectively we all completed 6008 laps of Stourport Cycle Circuit.
This means we travelled a combined distance of 8411km or 5226.5miles.
Putting that into context this is further than Stourport to Beijing which is 8177km or 5081 miles

I’m sure donations will continue to trickle in over the next few days/weeks so please continue to share the official justgiving page https://www.justgiving.com/page/wf24 to all your friends, family and work colleagues and tell them how amazing you truly were!

Extra special mention must be made of the two solo riders who completed the entire 24-hour period (with short breaks only), Jack Coombe and Mike Haddon. Also worthy of a very special WELL DONE is the youth team which completed the whole event and in which no rider was aged over ten years!
With sincerest thanks to everyone who took part and made this so much fun and such a success. Stand by for news of the 2025 event!
