As most members know, through the summer months the club runs a Thursday evening road ride, which takes in numerous local routes and occasionally stops for a pint when the weather is really good. Those rides will commence shortly, so keep an eye on the club’s Facebook page where they will all be posted at least 24 hours ahead of time.

Among its many attractions is the fact that it is almost entirely unpredictable. It might be be gravelly, MTB-ey, grotty, partially tarmac-ey or any combination of these and other conditions. Routes might well go Wyre Forest, Clent or Enville way. Or they might not. Might be hilly, might be flat. Might include a pub stop, might not…you get the picture.

Duration likely to be 25-30km at most due to a 19-20kmh average that seems about standard on good tracks, but again this is likely to vary wildly.

WFCRC is trying to broaden its offerings to include cyclists of all persuasions and the roaring success of the multi-surface option in the recent Reliability Rides indicates that there is demand for this, so break out those fat-tyred weapons and let’s get rural!!!
