The West Midlands Cyclo Cross League have announced the final points totals and positions for the 2017 season. For Wyre Forest CRC riders the points and positions are as follows.
Under 8 boys. An excellent year for Daniel Philpotts who improved throughout the season in his first year of cyclo cross racing scoring 567 points from his best 6 rides from the 8 races he contested to finish in 4th place.
Under 14 girls. Excellent performances from two more first time cyclo cross riders with Posie Forrester scoring 670 points from her best 7 races from the 10 in total she contested finishing in 4th place with Grace Nolan scoring 485 points from her 5 rides to finish in 6th place. Both girls finished 1st and 2nd in the Isla bikes one bike category where riders are only allowed one bike and cannot change to another machine in the event of a mechanical or adverse weather conditions.
Under 14 boys. Charlie Boddice missed over half the season, but managed a creditable 28th place with 316 points from his 4 rides.
Juniors. Oliver Bill made progress throughout the season eventually finishing in 17th place with a total points score of 520 from the 6 races he contested. He was the best placed rider in the Isla bikes one bike category.
Women. Erin Boddice only managed 2 races throughout the season but her 162 points gave her a 36th place finish overall and 4th in the junior girls category.
Over 50 veterans. Mike Haddon completed 8 races in the series with his best 7 results giving him 294 points for 68th place from a total of 137 competitors in this class.
Senior men. Matt Boazman was the club’s best placed rider in this category scoring 146 points from 2 rides for 43rd position while James Duncan’s solo effort gained him 78 points for 56th place.
