Away from the cyclocross season club riders have been busy competing in a range of events as the circuit racing, road races and time trial seasons draw to a close.

Midlands Women’s Time Trial Series

Three club riders competed in the Women’s time trial series Aimee Lane, Sue O’Shaughnessy and Kara Tranter and the team ended up picking up a fantastic first place finish overall in the Team Competition.  Kara Tranter picked up first place in the green jersey competition, whilst Aimee Lane and Sue O’Shaughnessy picked up 6th and 8th respectively in the yellow jersey competition.

Wyre Forest Open 10 mile Time Trial

The club hosted a successful 10 mile open Time Trial on the K46/10 Severn Stoke course course.  Aimee Lane was the fastest rider from the club on the day with a time of 25:52 to finish in 4th place and fastest juvenile and was followed just behind in 5th place by Sue O’Shaughnessy with a time of 27:43.  In the men’s event Andy Knight was the fastest club rider with a time of 24:20 finishing in 10th place, closely followed by David Briggs in 13th place with a time of 24:54 and Craig Hopkins in 18th place with a time of 26:06.

VTTA Midlands Open 10 mile TT

Aimee Lane was the only club rider to compete in the open 10 on the K33/10D course finishing with a great time of 24:11.

VC Sevale Open 10 mile 17 September 2019

VC Sevale hosted their open 10 mile TT even on the K46/10 course with Andy Knight fastest club rider with a time of 23:48 to finish in 13th place.  Aimee Lane was fastest juvenile on the day with a time of 25:38

Steve Taylor Memorial Road Race 22 September

Charlie Genner competed in the Steve Taylor memorial race on the Welland circuit in Malvern having taken a short break since securing his 2nd category license and showed his great form this year to pick up a fantastic 13th place finish and pick up 3 BC points.

Youth Circuit Races

Max Hinds has continued his busy year of racing competing in a range of youth events over the last month and picking up a whole load of podiums and victories to add to his already outstanding results so far this season.  This as included:

  • 20th August 2019 Mallory Park – Joe Summerlin Memorial Trophy – 1st
  • 11th August 2019 Newcastle-under-Lyme Town Road Race -2nd
  • 18th August 2019 Darley Moor- 1st
  • 3rd September 2019 Mallory Park U12 League Winner – Max Hinds
  • 8th September 2019 Darley Moor – 1st place
  • 21st September 2019 Odd Down- 1st place

 

 NFuse NorthWest Tour – Lancaster 24th- 25th August 2019

Max Hinds and Posie Forrester both competed in the NFuse tour in Lancaster during a very hot and hilly weekend of racing.  Saturday saw riders competing in a 3.8k individual time trial with Pose Forrester finishing in 44th place and Max Hinds in 1st in their respective categories.  The next day saw them tae part in a challenging crit course with Posie Forrester finishing in 43rd place and Max Hinds in 10th to finish in 44th and 1st place respectively in the overall points classification.

Warwick Town Road Race 1st September 2019

Max Hinds and Aimee Lane took part in the technical Warwick street circuit town races.  Max had another strong ride and was just beaten into 2nd place. Aimee Lane, competing in her final race as a youth rider, finished it off in style to pick up a win.
