It’s probably safe to say we’re now heading into autumn. However, B Ride opportunities occur 365 days a year. This week a fresh route awaits, full of anti-clockwise wholesomeness and some bumps that will warm the knees.

The destination is Barnt Green, that bucolic semi suburban oasis with running water.

The route to it is via Rushock and Bromsgrove, skirting Alvechurch as we gain height with steady slopes rather than big inclines. New scenery and new roads to rides for some of us.

The return is a specially graded downhill (special in that it contains some up too) which is effectively coming off the Lickey Hills towards home.

In terms of logic you know it absolutely makes sense to attend.

Caveat corner;

Climbing, but nothing fierce. Max 11% over a few metres.

Country lanes may include potholes and varying surfaces. Take care to sight your line through rough sections.

Main roads kept to a minimum but there are a couple of places where we have to cross. Approx 6km is on main roads.

Bring the necessary equipment and spares. Help will be given with punctures/mechanicals where possible.

Bring your card if they don’t take cash, and some cash if they break the card reader
