A special early Halloween event for those spooked by the big gradients. Our route takes in all the easy climbs but never strays too far from home. There’s barely time to get warmed up before the gentle sounds of breathlessness and grunting and mashed gears as Hoarstone Lane causes your Garmin to pause because it thinks you’ve stopped. Over the top it’s down to Arley to repeat the process on the Arboretum climb.
Dodging the gunfire on Beacon Lane we arrive at the local bête noire of many cyclists, Sheepwalks. Once complete it’s downhill to the cafe stop in Kinver at Kinfayre Cafe. Another test of cafe legs takes us up Church Hill and a run at Sladd Lane to round off some nice altitude gain.
Once again feel free to vent your disgust at the ride leader, who will, by default, be the last one up Sheepwalks.
