Lorenzo said it really lifted him. Our event started pretty quick and split on the second climb with Joe & myself in a small group of 6 to 8 riders and I was pretty near the limit. Changed off the big ring and unshipped the chain!, bang straight out the back with  the bunch coming  past moments later as I struggled to sort the gears. I was 50 yds off when I did and never managed to close that gap as the road just goes up and down, mostly up between the Clee Hills. I decided the race was not going to beat me and settled down to a long uncomfortable grind in the humid sunshine watching many riders coming back the other way after they had been shelled out from both events. Saw Joe briefly at the end and he said the race regrouped before splitting again on Angel Bank. I believe a lead group established itself from which D Cummings broke clear near the end for a solo win. They had Joe down in 14th place, I was 27th but apparently not last as I caught and passed 2 riders a few miles from the finish. Don't know where the guys in the A/B race finished but I think Lorenzo was well placed. Brian Austin had been up the road in a break but came back to Lorenzo's group after Clee, no idea how Ian Connolly got on. The roads were really hard, very rough and wearing, the profile of course you know about. The 6 climbs coming back from Cleobury received some harsh language! Fair play Dave, it was so hot and  the circuit only went one way – UP. We had to tackle a 1 in 5 to get there ( I walked)  Greatest of respect for our guys tackling this one. I’m pretty sure WF had 100% finishers    How did the rest of you get on ?   Smithy   http://wfcrc.org.uk/index.php?nid=3369 Mon, 29 Jun 2009 00:00:00 +0100 Reminder :WFCRC 10mile championships: 08/07/09 WFCRC administrator Reminder The WFCRC 10mile championships will be next week 08/07/09 at the Ikon trading estate 7.30pm   http://wfcrc.org.uk/index.php?nid=3372 Mon, 29 Jun 2009 00:00:00 +0100 Worcs St Johns CC '10' Saturday. So difficult to get good staff nowadays ( Thanks Mick, much obliged ) Smithy   http://wfcrc.org.uk/index.php?nid=3360 Tue, 23 Jun 2009 00:00:00 +0100 Preview: LVRC event WFCRC administrator There’s an LVRC event coming up very soon. I predict there will be plenty of bikes on Ebay afterwards. Anyone know what it is and the circuit?    I was lucky / sorry unlucky to have my entry back as I was late with the post. I’m gutted, no really I am.   Who would be bonkers enough to even enter, well I’ll tell you. Ian / Pat Connolly - well there’s 2 for a start. Dave Prior – Certified long ago and obviously let out for what could be his last ride. (he’ll never survive ) Any one else – come on own up or spill the beans. It was a fast start to the race which saw the field split after about 3 laps. 4 riders were in the leading group and James was in the second group of 4 riders, everyone worked well together all doing their share of the work. On the final lap James out sprinted the others in true Cavendish style to finish in 5th place overall.   “ Nice one “ James   http://wfcrc.org.uk/index.php?nid=3357 Mon, 22 Jun 2009 00:00:00 +0100
